We are exited to share important updates to our Reformer Pilates classes at Alpine Physio!

Starting Monday, 28th April 2025, we will be adjusting our class structure to a 10-week school-term rosta. This adjustment allows us to provide a much more tailored and progressive class structure, to ensure your exercises and strength improve at an appropriate pace.  This aligns with our ethos of providing evidence based practice and as physio’s we know that gradually increasing load and difficulty is the best way to get results and reduce pain. You can attend makeup classes within the term – just make sure to inform us of any planned absences as early as possible.

If you have existing credits with us, they will be automatically transferred to your new profile on the system, and you can apply them towards this 10-week course. Any additional credits needed to complete the course can be purchased at $35 per class. If you prefer not to commit to a full 10-week block, we’ll still transfer your credits, and you can use them flexibly across the next two terms as space becomes available, booking online through our website.  You will not be able to purchase independent credit packs in the future.

As part of our ongoing commitment to offering high-quality, physio-led classes, we have adjusted the pricing for our Pilates sessions and will no longer be offering unlimited memberships. This change reflects the inclusion of longer, 55-minute classes and a focus on providing a more personalised experience for each of our clients. We are the only clinic in town to offer classes run exclusively by physiotherapists who have also trained in pilates. We understand that these changes may take some adjustment, and we sincerely appreciate your continued support.

As a token of our appreciation, we’re offering exclusive early access to book your preferred classes for the upcoming term. To reserve your spot in our first 10-week term, please respond to this email with the classes you would like to book in for by Thursday 10th April. Kindly note that a minimum of three participants is required to run each class.

As requested by you we are looking to add specialist classes to further hone in on the unique needs of our clients

  • Back Pain – for those with either acute or a long history of back pain. We provide specific exercises to reduce your back pain in a safe environment.
  • Knee/Lower Limb Pain – have grumbly knees, hips or ankles? This class focuses on lower limb strength, alignment and stability.
  • SKI FIT – leg strength and endurance with lots of lateral core work to hone your carving skills. Evidence based to reduce your high trauma knee injuries up to 70%!
  • GOLF FIT – with a focus on building a strong and stable core while increasing rotational power and speed.

If you wish to participate in any of these classes then please let us know and we will endeavor to find a suitable time.  Please note Back Pain and Knee/Lower Limb Pain classes will require an initial 1:1 session ($45 ACC, $80 Private) with a physio to do a thorough assessment of what is causing your pain so we can ensure all exercises are specific and appropriate to your individual injury. In these 1:1 assessments we can refer for imaging (if indicated), arrange specialist doctor review (if indicated) and give you a tailored home exercise program.

Due to longer class times we have had to adjust the timing of some classes. Please see our timetable attached. Mums & Bubs and Tradies classes will now also move to the same 10-week rosta following the current blocks, Pre-Natal classes will remain as 5-week blocks.

If you have any questions or need further details, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

TRADIE PILATES

This is our class for men only.

Tailored specifically for men to work on your stability muscles and to get rid of or prevent upper/lower back pain. We target the smaller muscles you don’t think you need while incorporating some fun high intensity exercises so you fell like you have done your body justice.

What is Reformer Pilates?

Reformer pilates is designed to reduce pain, target your core, increase strength and improve your mobility/flexibility through Pilates based exercises. Reformers are spring loaded resistance Pilates machines which enable us to really ramp up or down the resistance to suit your needs.  We also use weights, rollers, ova balls, swiss balls and Pilates ring to keep your session fresh and exciting.

If you have a complex injury history or feel you would benefit from a 1:1 class to begin with please email us to arrange a time.  A 1:1 session involves a thorough assessment of your movement patterns, injury and pain history, core activation and breathing assessment. If you have never done Pilates before we will then take you through some basic Pilates exercises, coaching you around breathing and muscle activation.

Who benefits from Reformer Pilates?

We cater for beginners to experts, tradies to desk jockeys, the injured clients to the ones who need strength to back up their extreme sports habits.

We provide group classes and 1:1 sessions with a Pilates trained physiotherapist. This means however sore or damaged you feel we can still get you moving without fear of injury.

Historically pilates has been used extensively with people who have lower back pain with fantastic lasting results. We encourage gentle strengthening and mobility to get people moving pain free!

Surprisingly our biggest converts are younger males who are physically very strong but lack the core stability and balance to continue their active lifestyle without injury and back pain.
