Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is effective for strains, sprains, lower back pain, neck pain, shoulder, hip, knee and ankle injuries. Physiotherapists use a variety of treatment techniques including soft tissue release work, joint mobilisations and exercise to get you moving pain free again!

Shoulder rehabilitation after surgery

Concussion Rehab

Concussion rehabilitation uses guided exercises and manual therapy to help restore balance, coordination, strength, and movement after a concussion. We gradually reintroduces physical and cognitive activity to safely improve symptoms and support recovery. ACC funded programs available.

Reformer Pilates

Want a fun way to get fit and relieve pain? Reformer pilates classes are designed specifically around your needs. We have only 5 people per class so we can target your problem areas. Run exclusively by physiotherapists so you are in safe hands.

Women’s Health Physio

We have two highly experienced senior pelvic health physiotherapists dedicated to helping you restore your confidence. Through confidential, personalised assessments and tailored guidance, they support you with pelvic pain, pre- and post-natal rehabilitation, pain during intercourse, incontinence, and a wide range of pelvic health concerns.

Hand Physiotherapy

Our hand specialists diagnose and treat all elbow, hand and wrist injuries. They can make custom splints and braces. There is no charge for ACC follow up appointments or splinting.

Jaw pain specialist; TMJ specialist

TMJ Physiotherapist

Laura is the only physiotherapist in Wanaka to have a special interest in TMJ issues. She specalises in jaw pain and clicking caused by tight muscles in your jaw and neck. You will often be referred by your dentist but you do not need a referral.

Sports & Performance Physio

Sports & Performance Physiotherapy utilises VALD technology to accuractely test power, strength, jump height, balance and force production. We treat many olympic athletes and are the trusted physios to the Canadian Olympic Park and Pipe team as well as Super Rugby.

Off work and need support?

We can refer you to ACC’s fully funded SAW program. Our in house Occupational Therapist ensures you get wrap around care and you will have a full team to help you make a successful return to work.

Having surgery?

We a trusted physiotherapists who can develop a thorough rehab program in keeping with the instructions from your surgeon. We will report back to your surgeon regularly so they are kept up to date with your progress. If you don’t have a surgeon yet but think you need surgery, we can assess and refer directly to a specialist if needed.

Vestibular/BPPV Treatment

Physiotherapists can accurately assess and treat BPPV often in one session! We use specific head positions and movements to reposition the calcium depositis that are floating in your inner ear canals.

Acupuncture and Dry Needling

These are different practices that both use thin needles to help relieve pain and restore movement. Acupuncture is Chinese based on meridians, which are pathways through which vital energy (qi) is believed to flow. Dry Needling uses “trigger points” or muscle spasms to direct where we place the needle to release tension.

Exercise Physiology

Jess is an exercise physiologist as well as a physiotherapist. She will support your journey back to health after a cardiac event, cancer or diabetes. She will provide you with essential tools to use exercise to help manage chronic diseases.
